- How does PDF merging work?
- Drop multiple PDF files onto the page. They appear as cards you can drag to reorder. When you click merge, the tool combines them into a single PDF in the order you've arranged, preserving all pages, bookmarks, and metadata.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Free users can merge files up to 10 MB combined, Core subscribers up to 100 MB, and Pro subscribers up to 200 MB. Most everyday merges (a few PDFs of typical document sizes) are well within free limits.
- Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
- No. Merging runs entirely in your browser using PDF.js and pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device, and there's no account required.
- Can I reorder pages before merging?
- Yes. Drag the file cards into the order you want before clicking merge. You can also remove a file from the merge list by clicking the × on its card.
- Is this tool free?
- Yes — fully free with no account required. Paid plans add larger file sizes and batch processing.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. Merge works in any modern mobile browser. The drag-and-drop reordering works with touch on mobile devices.
- Does it preserve bookmarks and metadata?
- Yes. Bookmarks, document metadata, and page-level annotations from the source PDFs are preserved in the merged output.
