How do I fill in a PDF form?

Drop your PDF onto the page. The tool detects all form fields — text inputs, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns — and shows them ready for input. Type your answers and download the filled PDF. No printing required.

What if my PDF doesn't have interactive form fields?

Some PDFs are flat (no fillable fields) — they're meant to be printed and filled by hand. For these, use a tool like a text overlay or convert to image first. SanctumPDF's form filler only works with PDFs that already contain interactive form fields.

Is my form data uploaded to a server?

No. Form filling runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your form data and filled PDF never leave your device.

Can I save my progress and come back later?

The tool doesn't persist data between sessions (because nothing is stored). To save progress, download the partially-filled PDF and re-upload it later to continue.

Is this tool free?

Yes — fully free with no account required.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Form filling works in any modern mobile browser. Touch-based input on form fields works the same as desktop.

Can I flatten the form so the fields can't be edited?

Yes. After filling, choose to flatten the form before downloading. Flattened forms have the field values baked into the PDF as static content — recipients can't modify them.
