What is a QBO file?

A QBO file is QuickBooks' version of the OFX (Open Financial Exchange) format. It contains structured transaction data — dates, amounts, payee names and unique transaction IDs — that QuickBooks can import directly through its Web Connect feature. Unlike CSV imports, QBO files prevent duplicate transactions because each transaction has a unique ID.
